CRYSTAL AND ITS HOMELAND: THE NEW CHAMBER OF WONDER AT SWAROVSKI INNSBRUCK

“THE TAMING OF THE SHOE” – SWAROVSKI INNSBRUCK DISPLAYS WILD SHOE DESIGNS

Shoes can seduce one – into creativity, sensuousness, shopping, and much more. This is why “The Taming of the Shoe”, the redesign of the Mirrored Wall in the entrance area at Swarovski Innsbruck, focuses on this unique item of clothing. Opening on August 31, 2012, it showcases spectacular shoe creations by world famous designers, each of which incorporates SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. The implication of the reference to the Shakespeare play “The Taming of the Shrew” is that designers have the ability to take untamed ideas and produce viable designs that nonetheless retain something “wild”.

THE REOPENING OF SWAROVSKI INNSBRUCK: A CRYSTAL OF MANY COLORS AND FACETS

For many years, SWAROVSKI INNSBRUCK has been a sparkling attraction in the old town that surrounds Innsbruck’s Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof). Since summer 2011, and after extensive renovation work, SWAROVSKI INNSBRUCK shines brighter than ever before as a luminous, modern shopping landscape presented in combination with centuries-old structural elements, some of which date back as far as the Gothic period. It is also home to the glittering Swarovski product world, along with installations by major contemporary artists such as Thomas Feuerstein and Erwin Redl, turning SWAROVSKI INNSBRUCK into the new center of crystalline wonder.
